As newbies to camping, I would like to get peoples thoughts and recommendations on areas in the south of england that are a must see.....and of course have good camping pitches for tents.
So any recommendations are most welcomed....get posting please!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Hi foxydan
Welcome to the site.
What I would do if I was you, just pick a town or a county
Type it into campsite search on top of the page, and read the reviews on hundreds of sites around the UK.
All the best.

Hi Rex, thanks for your reply. I have done this and it is a great facility as this is how we found our last campsite. The point of my post was really to focus on areas in south england that have lots to offer in terms of things to do/or places to see and not just on the campsites. Maybe i should have been a little more specific myself in my original post.
Hi again Give the Isle of white a try, stay at Folkstone C&C Club site and check out the white cliffs of Dover, The Gower peninsular is well worth a visit. and the beauty of pembrokeshire west wales.
All the best
Rex.

Having just had our first trip on the Surrey/Kent border I could recommend that. You are within easy reach of castles and homes plus lots of Kentish vineyards.
However if feeling more adventurous a short drive to Ashford could take you either straight to London or Paris!

If your going to the new forest and have young children and want a fun day out for them try Paultons Park at Romsey just outside the New Forest, a few roller coasters small ones, large play park lots for kids to do, check out their website.
It depends what you want. We take at least 5 trips to Cornwall each year to the following
Gwithian Farm Good clean site, near a glorious beach with good facilities on site. Pub opposite the site, no club
St Ives Bay Holiday Park All singing all dancing site. Sll the facilities you can want with Inddor swimming pool and large club on site. Can be a bit nois at times and gets really busy in the school holidays. Again its only 10 mins off the beach.
Polmanter Really snmashing site with hedged pitches and really clean and tidy site. Small pub and restraunt on site, Outdoor pool + . Really like this site and always gets booked up quickly.
Pentewan Another all singing all dancing site. People either love it or hate it. Has its own private beach and is only 10 minute drive from the lovely fishing village of Mevagissey.

Great post Nigel. We are thinking of cornwall as haven't been there for years. Just got to put up with the drive. I'll check out those sites you have recommended to see what takes the fancy!
