Hi Banjoman, Yes, it's a couple of minutes walk from the tent area to the toilet/shower block. Not sure you need bikes though?....... Lowther is a nice site but increasingly being taken over by statics and seasonal caravans. Very clean, brilliant shop, bar and takeaway, lovely walks for dogs and play areas for kids.. Staff are really friendly and make you feel very welcome. We have been a few times, but after our last visit not in a rush to go again. Very expensive for what you get.
We drove round the site a couple of years ago when we were staying at Park Foot. To be honest we sort of thought that people in tents were the `poor men` of the site. We preferred Park Foot and we had a stunning view of Ullswater from where we were pitched. I believe there is another site in the area called The Quiet Site that is also well recommended.
We are booked to go to lowther at the end of may. It is only £30 pounds for 2 nights. You can arrive from 8am on fri and can stay until 10pm on sunday for up to 6 people! I thought that was a good deal. It is this price for various activity weekends throughout the year. We have never been but quite a lot of our friends have and like it. can't comment on position of loos etc till we have been sorry
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
