Hi

Caravan or Tent? (Its not in your profile)

If its a caravan the CC have a really nice site at West Ayton (5miles from Scarborough). We did a week there at Easter.

Good childrens area and plenty to do close by.

Cheers

Paul

We are going to Cayton Village in July, its got some shelter and is within walking distance of a beach, two essential things that seem to be very hard to find in East Yorkshire!! Not been yet but has good reviews:

That's because you're looking in the wrong place. Cayton is in North Yorkshire

sorry, my geography is not good! LOL Didnt it used to be East Riding?

What I was trying to say is most of the sites we found were on the top of cliffs, fab but looked at bit windy!

Lovely part of the world, we have very similar geography in NE Scotland

Me, I'm derbyshire born and bred but married to Scot. funny thing is we both holidayed in Scarborough area as kids.

Our plan was to meet friends half way, seems they have the better deal as we still have 400 mile drive... LOL!

Hi we also can recommend cayton village, very clean site, if you have a tent and dont need ehu, pitch where you like, any size tent, also take dogs, havent had a serviced pitch so dont know about these, Its a good 10-15 min walk to the excellent beach. It is practically right in the village you can get fish & chips and take them into the beer garden of the pub next door.

We also like Middlewood farm, Fylingthorpe, near Robin Hoods Bay. You can walk from the site through the woods down to the bay.

Sounds great, really looking forward to it, kids haven't been to Yorkshire since they were very little. Middlewood was on our shortlist too!

I've stayed at Cayton Village, it was lovely. There's a bus stop right outside the gate too. Two pubs in the village both did good meals. We'll be going back. Fab dog walk too!

Hi Sharon

Use the search facility and read the reviews  on  Jacobs Mount. We have booked for July based on the reviews

"Jacobs Mount is a sheltered, family run park, surrounded by woodland and open countryside, on the edge of the Forge Valley National Park area, yet ideally situated only two miles from Scarborough Beach, Town Centre and in close proximity to the many attractions of the surrounding areas.
Offering Free showers in newly built Heated shower blocks, Live Entertainment in the Pub Resturant in high season.
Two Childrens Play areas as well as a games room during the day"

Hope this helps
