It is very convenient, but at the end of May they charge quite a lot: £18.10 for 1 night for 2 people.
If you do a search on this website for KENT, you get this page, where you can then click on any site and get further details. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/maplarge.asp?county=Kent
I'm going to be cheeky and tag onto the end of your posting 2cats. Can anyone recommend a site about 80 miles from Dover going in a nw direction.
We're coming back from France on 23/8/08 and need an overnight stop on the way back home (which is in the north-west). Somewhere handy, just off the M25 ideally. I did see one in the CC book but was put off by the fact that it was located at the end of the Gatwick airport runway; I need my sleep a bit more than that !!!
Thanks to anyone who can help
------------- A good wine, a good site and good friends - caravanning - c'est la vie !!

The Black Horse Caravan Club site is ideal for Dover, but would I be wrong in assuming that they do not accept tents.
They do accept tents. Although saying that, so does the Chester CC site, but when we rang to enquire about that for some friends a couple of weeks ago, the answer was that, yes, they accept tents, but not at the moment, as the ground is too wet. Said they would accept tents from June onwards.
So perhaps wise to check with them, if considering going there in a tent.
Hawthorne Park is in Dover , about 5 mins from the port . We went there last weekend & its in tip top condition . I'll find link.......http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=1544
