Hi everyone, i have been a lover of camping ever since doing my duke of edinburgh 11 years ago! for the last few years i have camped with friends and my other half (no ex other half!)  my mum (45) has always sworn she would never ever camp, however, somehow i managed to convince her to give it a go! so on friday night i went and bought a new tent, just a little 3 man, and last night we camped in the back garden, ha ha!!  we woke up this morning at 7am, made our breakfast on a disposable bbq (it was yummy!) and mum said she'd not slept so well in ages and so now we're off for a camping weekend in 3 weeks! just a 2 night trip to see how mum likes it (fri-sun)

so now we need to find a site, had a good look on here, seen a few options and now i'm asking you guys for any recommendations. here's a list of what we're after...

*cumbria, as we live in lancashire (near wigan) and its close to us as we will be relying on public transport. I always use public transport, makes me feel a real backpacker, ha ha!!

*quite central to a town, close to transport links, pubs for meals etc...

*nice wash facilities etc...

on my last trip we stayed at castlerigg hall, keswick, absolutely loved it, prior to that, stayed at low wray in ambleside which was a little too basic.

all help welcome

xxx

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=2238 - The croft

should meet all your requirements - bus stops outside, 5 mins walk at the most into the town of Hawkeshead, pubs & shops there. We stayed last October and had a great time.

I'll second that, croft every time, very well kept site and very close to the village services'.        Enjoy.
