I would think the Providence inn at Yedinham would be the closest but it is not really within walking distance . It has a play area and the River Derwent runs along one side of the camping field.

Top marks to Vale of Pickering. Excellent camp site, brilliant play area for kids, very clean showers / toilet block. And Thanks for the recomendation for the Providence inn at Yedingham. Absoluteley Brilliant!! Lovely Pub, great people, excellent quality, great value food and a great little beer garden with play area. We'll be going back,Thanks again!
hey there g.worm, depends on what you're looking for, it was ideal for us. Our girls are just 4 & 5 though. Other than the play area there's no clubhouse but we were happy having a bbq and a few drinks outside the tent. There was a big field with footy goals on just outside the site. The pub's just a 5 minute drive or a 35min walk.
We did love it and had a great time, maybe an 8 and 12 year old might get a bit bored after more than 2 or 3 nights? They and you may prefer somewhere with a clubhouse and entertainment. Depends on what you're looking for I suppose.
Hope this helps and you all have a great time.
