My name's Ant and I'm looking to organise a camping trip with a group of friends ideally to Wales near the beach. I am 27 and the average age of the group is a similar vintage, we are all professionals hence we are not likely to be throwing bottles of beer at anyone or throwing up in the toilets and generally being anti-social. That said we do like to listen to music late at night, and some of us are musicians so we'd more than likely be playing music too. And yes we would be drinking and quite possibly being what some would deem loud therefore somewhere reasonably segmented and not overtly orientated around families would make sense so as not to disturb or offend anyone.
I have searched various sites including this one and I'm finding that there are either peaceful, tranquil havens with strict rules on groups, or free-for-all under 18's allowed mayhem campsites where anything goes, the facilities are shocking and trouble is more than likely.
Surely there must be somewhere inbetween????
I would be extremely grateful if someone could point me in the direction of a campsite where a large group of mature, responsible adults could go to enjoy camping, have some fun around the campfire, BBQ, play a few songs and just generally have a good time without upsetting families or being plagued by 16 year olds tanked up on Stella?
Many Thanks and happy camping! :-)
Ant.

hiya! welcome to the site! it's great you'll be addicted now beware ha ha!
shell island sounds perfect for you it's huge so you will be well out of the way and wont disturb other campers (think they have seperate sides for roudyish campers and families) a group of my famil and friends went there for my 21st and we took a guitar and had a few drinks and was fine!
because it is an island you are right on top of the beach also. if you stick it in the search engine at the bottom of the page (can't do links sorry!) there are loads of reviews it's very well reccomended and probab;y one of the only sites you will find that will cater for you!
happy camping hope this helps and you have a fab time!!!!!
I'm sure there are a couple of places on the Gower, but can't think of the names off the top of my head. there's a campsite near Port Eynon I've stayed on which might suit, no idea of the name though, sorry!
Thanks Naomi and Serenlas, didn't expect decent replies so quickly!!
You've made me feel very welcome here :-)
I did have a look at Shell Island and the many MANY reviews! I wasn't sure because by the sounds of things it's kinda split with one side reasonably quiet and the other quite loud and rowdy, but you can't book you just have to turn up and hope you get a spot you want.
I guess the trick would be to head down there on the Thursday night to beat all the Friday morningers :-)
Thanks again!!
Ant.

yeah that's the only problem with shell you can't book, we were ok because we went at the beggining of april and it wasn't the warmest of weekends if you were to go in the summer you may well struggle, think i remember my mum telling me that they got that quite early in the morning and had to que one summer! - bank holiday would be a deff no-no ha ha
Hillend, Llangennith is also virtually on beach. (Reviews etc on here but I can't do links.. sorry) ... not sure if you can book though... spent many a happy and chilled weekend here in my twenties but (unfortunately) that was a long time ago.. must be worth a look ?!

We've settled for Shell Island - it's convenient because it has a no-booking policy hence there are no issues with numbers of people changing, it's huge so there's no issues with space, it has a beach, there's quiet and not so quiet parts for variety and it's not that expensive.
Pretty much ticks all my boxes! :-)
Thanks for all the advice folks, I'll be posting a review when I get back
