despite the soaking we got this weekend (achem ! )...I'm looking into our next trip !  We're in the midlands and looking for a site where there's a lake, or low running river, pool?....somewhere wales way I imagine?....where we can paddle or swim?  Anyone know of a likely site?  I love the sea, but its too far for weekend breaks - second best is any clear water clean enough for dabbling in....low running rivers with lots of rocks in !.....

I do know of the one near bath where they have the river swimming club...but I expect that one gets busy.  We may give that one a go though.
