Hi Beckie, I take my wife and 4 year old son to ParkfootCampsite in Pooley Bridge. It's a great campsite and I've been there loads of times now and take friends with me that have never been camping a they've all loved it. It's got 2 playgrounds, tennis courts, pony trekking, good club house with restraunt & kids disco on Saturday Nights, take away, shop, very good & clean shower block, electric hook up etc, etc. Have a look on their site, it really is a great campsite, very child friendly a it's got decent security/security guards that patrol the site.
If your looking for something a little nearer Windermere then Parkcliffe is also good but it doesn't have quite as much for the children to do,. It has a nice restraunt and decent shop, it also has a little games room for kids but it depends on how old your kids are really. Bowness is only 10-15 minutes drive away so if the kids get bored or you want to stock up on food, beer then it might be worth the drive out.
Can also recomend Park Cliffe, but as said only a small arcade and a small park for the kids ... but still a lovely place :) been going there for the last 5 years ...
But, this year we are booked on Park Foot for a change, going 1st week in August, so looking forward to it .. Ai UK, sounds like we won't be disapointed then :)
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Parkfoot is a great site, its far from the cheapest and the pony trecking is expensive too, but its a great location, the onsite shop sells just about anything that you would need, I bought a cooker stand there for £10 cheaper than it was in a shop in the local town.
