My 9yr old son and I are keen campers. We get a couple of trips knocked in each year - usually in the smallest sites we can, cooking on fires where possible. This year though, we have hired a VW van in August and are heading to the Dorset coast. Never camped in a van before so would really appreciate hints and tips about camping on or off site, quiet beaches and small sites that would suit. Thanks very much all. Mike

Hi walkermike have you had a look through the at the top of the page.Pick your area and have a look at the reviews. You may also see the symbol for sites that allow fires. We went to Newlands earlier this year.Nice but may be a bit commercial for you ,but we were by Seadown and another site, cant remember the name now.Loads to do here.Mart wanted to have a look for fossils on Charmouth beach.Nice heritage centre here.My son and his friend enjoyed it and they are both 12
Hi we have a VW T25, the main thing we find 'living' in a van is you need to be really tidy...........otherwise you can never find anything, and you'll end up tripping over stuff.. it can be a pain sometimes, but it works for us
