...do they get really smokey in the evening?! I ask because I love the idea of a site with a camp fire but have a son who gets v mild asthma (to my knowledge only triggered by colds.) He's usually fine on bonfire night, at huge fires and with the air full of the smell of fireworks, so I'm assuming that small campsite fires would not be a problem. What do you think? I was wondering about going to Burnbake where I know they allow fires. Think we'd love it (as long as his asthma isn't triggered).

Thanks

We love Fisherground at Eskdale and that has campfires. We like the site, but wouldn`t stay there more than 4 nights as for some reason the smoke from the fires trigger my sinusitis if we stay too long, however my son has mild asthma and the campfires have never bothered him.

Burnbake is in my opinion one of the best campsites around.  The sight of campfires flickering away at night is quite magical but very seldom too smokey, I am sure your son will be okay.

My youngest daughter has asthma (which used to be quite bad) and has never had a problem with campfires, however like beezers said, it can affect your sinuses!
