Hi

Just thought I would pick your brains.

We normally just go camping for our big holidays but have decided to go camping this weekend. One of our daughhters has to be at home for dance practice - she cant get out of it -on sat morning til half eleven. I thought we could go fri after school and then I could leave OH at site with our other daughter on sat morning - hence the not to far from Leeds thing!!!.....

Any ideas would be very much appreciated...

I would pick somewhere on the A65, or near it, lots of outdoor things to do, malham tarn, Ingleton caves, ingleborough cavern (recommended).

Great site about 50 mins to an hour from Leeds.

if money is no object try flamingo land just visited there last weekend the kids loved it and will be visiting again. you don't have to leave the site at all. animals,rides swimming pool (free), golf and fishing also a supermarket on site. we towed a tourer from leeds took us just over an hr in strong winds.

we have also visited upwood holiday park in howarth thats lovely site very friendly. there is a small park and bar which sells food. it took us 30mins.

We have booked Hayfield In Derbyshire now for the weekend! But I am going to save all these suggestions for next time. I like to be able to go about an hour away - not too far for kids in the car then. Thanks again for all the good suggestions.
