Hi Marie,

Have not camped here but visited a few weeks ago. The campsite is huge so you can camp pretty much where you like. There seems to be something for everyone but the showers and toilets are pretty basic. They were a bit grubby when we visited but the island was busy. Although there is a warden, they accept groups so it probably is not very quiet. Check the tides before you camp, if you dont like it, you may be cut off for days. Have a check through other reviews on here, most people either love it or hate it.

Good luck.

Shell is a big site,  just have a drive round and find a spot you like  we prefer going to the right and camping with a view of the causeway  can be very entertaining

Remember 20  yards      yes   that's 20 yards   between tents unless you are a group   not that 20 yards will be a problem it's a 300 acre site.   Wardens patrol at night.

Causeway will flood twice a day but you will find the  Tide times on the link.    In a emergency they have another access so don't worry.

We usually go to CS sites with one or two units maximum, but Shell is the next best thing with all the whistles and bells.

We were there  5 weeks ago an although we were not quick enough to get a picture we did see two dolphins playing,  a wonderful sight.

I notice you have a motorhome. I think this is a tents only site, however motorhomes can be accomodated if use also use a tent for sleeping in. I don't know how strictly this rule is enforced though.

We were told this when we went there if you have a motorhome / campervan..you still have to sleep in a tent at the side of your unit...how odd is that eh.. great site and wonderful views...
