I am a complete novice to this, but have bought a tent & equipment from the local paper & want to spend some quality time with the family - hubby & girls aged 2 & 6. We want to "try it out" over a weekend at the beginning of August, but would like a quiet small site perhaps in Sussex/Dorset/Devon?
Any advice will be gratefully accepted. I have looked at some sites, but they have 100's of pitches and a lot seem to be booked.

Hi and welcome to ukcs, lots and lots of sites and im sure that people will recommend lots to you, have you looked here and search the area that you are looking for, I can recommend this site, we have stayed here and store our van, its near Paignton in Sunny (sometimes) Devon
Thanks I will have a look at that. I have tried the search, but it is mind boggling. I didn't realise there were so many sites! We live in Surrey, so don't want to travel far, but even if you choose one county you get loads of sites. I have started reading reviews, but then I spend hours reading & still am no closer to finding something!
