Hi - I was wondering if anyone can let me know if they have visited any cheap sites- in Scotland they could tell us about I`m on a tight budget with 2 kids.    We don`t need laid on entertainment/holiday camp stuff and all the frills -  just somewhere with basic facilities where we can get on with a trailer tent that is away - beside water would be nice but not essential. Any pointers would be great ,England and Wales would be an Idea also and I could make up a list for future holidays.

  {Into each life a little rain must fall just so we can appreciate the site of a rainbow and feel the warmth of the sun on our faces}

If you are a Camping and Caravan club member then you can stay on their certificated sites, usually £10 or less per night. It's worth joining for £30 odd a year.

Thanks - We just joined the CCC earlier  today and got our insurance cover sorted for our trailer tent.    I`m looking online at the moment to see the CS but again they are few and far between in Scotland. thanks for the input. I`ll let you know if I find something interesting and cheap.

You might do better in Cumbria, quite a few there.

if you are in the C&CC have you considered looking at the Temporary holiday sites (THS) ?  I haven't used them myself but others have mentioned them on here as very good value.

I have just started working here at Dalesbridge and think our prices are really reasonable - plus we love kids and dogs!

I've just looked in the C&CC out and about guide. There is a THS in Muir of Ord ross-shire, that has toilet and shower facilities but i quess you probably wanted something during school hols. unfortunatly all these say own san essential.

you can do a search on C&CC site, and specify toilet and shower facilities, quite a few CS sites come up.
