Yes, we were there a couple of years ago.  We tried to book again last year but there was some sort of conference on and they were full.

It depends what you are looking for really. There are quite a few seasonal vans on the site and a few what looks like workers vans too which has resulted in some not too great reviews.  All I can say is that we were there for a week and away from the van (a Hobby at the time) most days, as we were visiting relatives in Plympton, and we had no trouble at all.  It has a good reputation with the locals.

The site itself was spacious and mostly grass.  There is a bar on site and a Hotel with a good restuarant next door. Facilities were fine and there is loads to do in the area.

The other site in the area is Riverside which we went to last year. Far too crowded for us and some pitches are steep - we had to put bricks under the back ateadies.

All I can say is, the next time, we will go to Smithaleigh again.
