I have been trawling through the campsite reviews with no success, I am working up in Doncaster for a week and would like to take the wife and 7yr old daughter with me in our tourer. What I need is some inside knowledge of anyone who could reccomend a good clean site with shower/toilet facilites. A play area would be the cream on top!
I am willing to travel 10mile out of doncaster for the right site. I have read the report on the water park and dont like the idea of that too much, would rather go with some greater recomendation.
Kind Regards,
Batch.

We stayed at hatfield water park ,and i thought it was quite good, play area for kids too, we stayed just after the floods last year so it was a bit muddy
The thing I did not like about the hatfield water park was the comments like, there was no warden so when the electricity tripped out it was hard to ge reset, people used the toilet paper to throw up at the ceiling as there were no plugs. jrpotsy, is this an overstatement or is it livable?
It was a weekend in either july/august last year when i went .Like i say it was just after the floods , only went to watch my beloved man city in a freindly. There was only a few on the camp and had plenty of space, little play area for the kids , activities on the late canoeing etc , there was a climbing thing too.Didnt really notice if there was a warden, big reception area ,with someone there i think til about 8 . Yes its right about the toilets, kids had thrown wet tissue onto the ceiling and it was stuck there, i can see this happening from school trips etc , dont think its the campers , Great tarmac mini road for the kids to ride around the camp. I would go again if i had to go docaster way . But it wouldnt book it specially, ive been to better and worse.Theres another somewhere near im sure.

I was one of the reviewers that you are mentioning. Might be worth contacting the site regarding the warden, when we went it was Easter and they may not have one on that early in the season, there was a pitch saved for one. Regarding the triping of the electric, again some of that could be attributed to the time of year as many people had heaters on in their vans and awnings.
The toilets and showers were not the best we have seen but the site generaly was good for a municipal run site. If your not used to 5 star luxuries then the site is probably adequate.
The positives are; the site is in a nice location, there is a great play area if the kids are not teens or above and the leisure facilities on the lake are great. We live about 30 mins drive from Doncaster and have searched unsuccesfully for another site in the area.
I know it's not within the 10 miles but have you thought of Clumber Park CC site? We live in Doncaster and can get there in under 1/2 hour (its 23 miles) and it's one of the best sites we've stayed it with a great play area and fab location. In which part of Doncaster will you be working?
