Hi,

can anyone recommend a nice, clean and quiet camp site within walking distance to Keswick town centre?

Not looking for large camp sites, small ish ones....if possible

the camping & caravan club have one that is just about 10 mins walk from the town (maybe even less)

Yep, thats the best one...... and if you are camping in a small tent (and dont need EHU) then you can be pitched next to the lake.... Luverly.....

Yep, the only problem with this one is they put bigger tents in a field at the rear of the site and you are a long long way from the toilets, not good during the night...........................

I've been quite optimistic about 'walking distance' as it's a lovely walk into Keswick & downhill all the way which means. of course, that the return journey is uphill!

The last time we were here we walked into Keswick & then got the bus back which stops fairly near.

There's also Castlerigg Hall over the road from the farm - lovely facilities - the people who run the cafe are lovely. Great cooks.
