I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems booking at Riverside Caravan Park in Plymouth this year. We and many friends use this site regularly, mainly for its convenient location however when we wanted to go down in July we were all told (at various times and AFTER making a booking and paying the deposit), that the site only accepts seven day bookings in July. This is stated nowhere on their website.
Has anyone stayed in July in a previous year and been told this?
Or did you try and book this year and get informed of this policy? Either before or after your booking.
If you were informed of this policy AFTER booking, did you change your booking or your mind?! If you went elsewhere, did you get your deposit back?
I am not posting this to bad mouth the site, just we're looking for a little bit more information about what's happened this year. Especially as only some of us have received our deposits back (the owner is insisting to the rest that none of us got our deposits back). We also are wondering if it's worth trying to book in July again.
Many thanks.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Yes, we stayed at this site - but not in July, We were there last June while we visited friends in the area. I thought it was very crowded and the pitch we were on near the trees was so steep at the back, that we had to put the legs up on bricks.
Won't be going back.
------------- June
When we’re going up a hill of fortune, may we never meet a friend coming down
I STAY THERE SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR AS IT IS ABOUT 2 MILES FROM MY HOUSE, SO WHEN THE SUN SHINES, OFF WE GO. LOVELY SITE, NICE POOL ETC. HARD TO BELIEVE ITS ONLY 3 MILES FROM CITY CENTRE. HOWEVER, THE OWNERS HAVE DEFINITELY HAD A PERSONALITY BYPASS AND DON'T APPEAR TO GIVE A MONKEYS ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS - SEEMS TO BE THE NORM FOR SITE OWNERS THESE DAYS. ALWAYS CONFIRM BOOKINGS BY PHONE AS THEIR INTERNET BOOKING IS CHAOTIC.
Friends of ours stayed there for TWO nights three weeks ago ,mind you that was in a tent with no ehu and the site was half empty so perhaps that was the reason
doug
