Rain or no rain we are off to Holmsley in the New forest camping tomorrow, we should be able to get there at 12 so I am hoping there will be a little selection of pitches.
Just wondered if anyone knew of any good spots or areas to avoid there? Do any of the areas get particularly waterlogged?
Thanks and Happy camping for anyone else off this weekend.

We were there last week and really struggled to find a spot (we didn't have EHU). Spent some time on a large flat piece of ground being laughed at by others while we tried to pitch in the wind on very stony ground, then gave up. We finally found a nice spot near the stream that seem to be a favourite for families. Just past the play area there is a small road leading to about a dozen pitches, some in amongst the trees. We settled for a spot near the stream, not too stony equal distance between to shower blocks - the one over the stream was quieter. Ground sloped slightly towards the stream so shouldn't be too bad and was sheltered from the wind that was blowing hard up the top!
Yes, from what I saw there were parts just for motorhomes, parts just for tents and others mixed. We were given map and told to find a space as long as it wasn't EHU. The first part we tried had EHU around the outside and space for those without in the middle. Choose carefully though - it's huge. Just take your time.
