OH and I retire next July. Kids (grown up) have come up with the idea of a big family camp-out somewhere in Dorset to celebrate. That's us 2 with a TT; daughter + husband in a 4 man tent + car; son and partner in a 2 man tent (no car); and other son + partner in a 2 man (no car.)
We don't do club-house type of sites.
Any suggestions for nice civilised sites that will accept a group like us? And how best to organise the pitches, given that we don't want to pay for non-existent cars?
Oh, it will be the first week of the school holidays next July - we are both teachers.
Ta
Alan

There was a big family group camping in one of the paddocks when we went camping at Sea Barn Farm last month, they looked like they were having a nice time. I'm a teacher too and I camped for first 2 weeks and had nice weather. Sea Barn doesn't have a clubhouse but nice facilities, a brand new shower block that opened when we were there. Sea Barn overlooks Chesil Beach, some pitches have lovely views. Terrific sunsets, the site was quite quiet, we had a problem with some noisy students for a couple ofs night, but otherwise it was peaceful. Don't bother with the bar at West Fleet, the neighbouring site, the local pubs are much nicer.

Wood Farm at Charmouth. Or Seadown at Charmouth - direct access to Charmouth beach.  Ring them and state your pitching requirments. It doesn't just have to be in Dorset, Oakdown Park in East Devon (Charmouth/Lyme Regis are on the West Dorset/East Devon coast) is spotless.  The Masons Arms in Branscombe (East Devon) has lovely food.  The whole area is lovely and unappreciated!

Have a look at haddons farm at 3 legged cross wimborne. A small site with a camping field that will let you all pitch together and is very reasonably priced .There is no club/shop but there are shops and pubs within about 500 yards.

I can recommend South Lychett Manor, Lytchett Minster, about 5 miles from Poole.

Quite a large site with good sized pitches, good facilities and no club house. Good reviews in the revue section on here.

Any grandkids in your group? If not, how about Binghams Farm (now called Binghams Grange) adults only site near Bridport. Great reviews on UKCS but I haven't stayed there myslef - for 2 reasons, I have kids and I live less than a mile away!
