I have just spent a few days at Nodes Point on the Isle of Wight following on from a disastrous break at Thorness Bay on the Island last year. I was reluctant to go despite having part of the break paid for by Park Resorts after complaining last year. I was very pleasantly surprised. You wouldn't think they were both run by the same outfit. On arrival at reception I was met by a very friendly, polite, helpful member of staff who gave me site details and directed me to the best places to camp and even suggested that the top field was quieter than the bottom one. All facilities were clean and well maintained. The view over Bembridge harbour is stunning and there is easy access to one of my favourite Island beaches - I live on the Isle of Wight by the way. The only down point was that it's almost impossible to find a flat pitch and I ended up with rotten backache from sleeping on a slope but my brother-in-law came down and camped quite happily for 2 weeks at the same site.

The place is well-staffed with people checking that certain regulations are adhered to with regard to spacing of tents (they are more relaxed about groups who pitch closer together). I had problems finding anyone when I needed them at Thorness.

Highly recommended and I will return.

Will also be leaving feedback in the reviews section too.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Hi, we have just spent a week at nodes point. We had the hook up pitches right by the beach.(nice and flat) We had a lovely week(despite the rain) and have to say we did find the staff helpful, we did feel sorry for the bar staff though as they seemed very understaffed for peak season.

We had a couple of lovely days on the beach when the sun did decide to show it's self. The horse riding which is run from the site was very good. My daughter ended up riding twice.

Only down side was the porta loos which were the closest toilets to us did get in a real mess. This was not the parks fault however but the inconsiderate campers that didn't seem to care how they left them!

The touring warden was a great chap very helpful and friendly.

I went into the portaloos on the way back from a walk round Bembridge Harbour. Went in and went straight back out again and up to the lovely clean toilet block at the top of the hill. It's a shame people have to treat such facilities so badly but the site managers can only do so much. I pity the poor souls who had to clear it all up - paper towels, water and - shall we say - solid waste all over the floor of 2 cubicles.
