I can reccommend Rosemarkie CC & C site, we have just been, it's lovely, just 12 foot from the beach, between Fortrose and Rosemarkie on the Black Isle, just over the Kessock? Bridge from Inverness. We where dolphin watching, and seals, it was so good we cant wait to go back next summer (lets hope we get one).

Got to agree about Clachtoll Beach,fantastic site,and Jim the guy that owns it is a diamond.We had two fantastic days there a couple of weeks back and will deffo go back.

How far north would you like to go???? We went to Sango Sands in Durness last year. Site right on the edge of the cliffs, sea views towards the arctic, fantastic scenery and miles of walking. Showers and toilets were clean but probably would be described as basic. Good pub abd resturant next door. Its not that brill for day trips in the car as it is a long way along single track roads to anywhere but if you like walking, scenery and isolation this is the place.

Would second Sango Sands at Durness, we went there this year and cant wait to go back. Would agree with Clachtoll as well but Clachtoll maybe a bit more isolated.
