I'll second Birchwood Farm.  We stayed for a long weekend about a month ago and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  There is a wood running alongside the site which the children enjoyed playing in, you can walk down the trail to the canal and have a picnic. Walking along the canal brings you to arkwright mills with lovely craft shops and coffee shop and you are very close to a lovely village called Cromford with a few pubs, fish & chips etc. Quite close to Matlock, although you might need the car.

The one in Darley Dale is the Square and Compass and they do mostly tents. You'd have to check the facilities, though the pub does meals etc and it is very central to all the attractions etc.  Number is 01629 733255
