Hi - its that time of year when the fun of xmas is over and I want to know where I'm going on my summer holiday!!
Can anyone offer any words of wisdom - we're a family of 5, 2 adults, 3 children aged 3, 5 and 8. Love the beach, cannot abide wind!! after camping last summer I am very keen to be slightly out of the wind if possible! Would just love a fab campsite (wouldn't we all I know) and we've chosen Cornwall for this year hoping for a week or 2 of fun.
Anyone got any suggestions??
Cheers

I need a working shower and toilet and if honest would like a nice one! don't like eve entertainment but the kids do like activities in the day so am happy to stay in a place that provides entertainment and I'll just avoid it of an eve.
Don't want hook up or anything like that tho x
Hi, I reccomend St Ives Holiday Park http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=st+ives+bay&by=sitename. A large family site with most of the pitches set amongst the sand dunes giving the feel of a smaller site. The dunes also give some protection from the wind. The site leads directly to a wonderful sandy beach.

If you don't mind the extra cost and hassle of getting there, then this site is something a little different. You're very own private island (well almost) , right next to a fab beach, safe for your little one and 'some' shelter from tall hedges.Although if Cornwall has any wind this place will get its fair share! No entertainment I,m afraid, apart from a pub with a superb view! The 'entertainment' is discovering the island.See their website and gallery.
We are going to Pentewan Sands in August which is right on their own private beach. We are staying in one of their vans as we are taking the in laws. There is a campsite there and lots to do too.
i agree with andy perran springs or perran sands are both nice sites been to them both a few times plenty for the kids to do i have a large family and the kids loved it by the way we allso whent to the isle of white last year for 3 wks the site was fab and the price was no more than staying on the mainland inclueding the ferry will be going again this year for 3 wks in augast
cheers all - decisions decisions may do ip dip do as all sound good - thanks for advice!
P.p.s would always recommend Isle of Wight for lkdis its wicked!

Im not sure when your thinking of going but perran sands is where we are going for 2009 and if you choose the right weeks you can / could get one week free so it makes it an even more attractive proposition and being Haven it has loads for the kids to get involved with!!!!!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
