Hi All,
Please can you help out with this one.
Last year i managed to get my brother & family into the camping lark. I'm now about to start organising this years trips.
I've mentioned it to him and they're all mad keen but..... he wants..... a lake, near by pub with good home cooked food and good ale.......and also maybe on/near a farm!!! Doesn't want much does he???
Any where in the lake district would be fine but also the peak district or north wales or yorkshire dales etc. We live just outside of manchester so anything within 2 hours drive would be fine
Thanks for any help

We have booked a stay at the C+CC Keswick site - situated next to the lake and walking distance to town with pubs, shops etc.
It should tick most of the boxes you require.

never stayed here but walked through it a number of times, always seems busy.

There's also the Eskdale site in Boot. Not near a lake, but at the bottom of hardknot pass with streams, rivers and waterfalls. Super pub in the village with very good food and real ale. There's also a microbrewery pub within walking distance. Last May we swam in a nearby river (can't remember where it was - only about a 15 minute drive away) Problem with being next to a Lake is flooding.------------- Life is better with whippets

I have stayed at the site mentioned above, C+CC Keswick site, on quite a few occasions and thinks it would suit you perfectly. The only thing missing is the farm but there are plenty of sheep in fields nearby and you will see plenty of ducks, rabbits etc on the site itself. You couldn't get a site that is any nearer to a lake. There are lots of pubs and shops in easy walking distance.

Coniston Hall site is a good one and it is a nice walk into Coniston - just about right for children
Park Coppice (caravan club site) is a little further back but is OK.
Keswick - be careful of flooding.
Fisherground would be agood place for you
