Hiya Kendal,

I think you mean Camelot in Longtown nr Carlisle, I have never stayed but live about 10 miles away.  I am sure I know the one you mean on the ourskirts of the town on the road toward Gretna.  It is right on the roadside, looks tidy, nothing much to walk to, short drive to Longtown with pubs, chippy, spar, a couple of small shops and a lovely river walk.  Gretna is only a few miles away, with the gateway shopping complex, tourist/marraige attraction at the blacksmiths shop.

Carlisle has all you may need, Cinema, pubs, shops, restaurants, bowling, parks, swimming.

However I would reccommend a site just over the border at Ecclefechan called Hoddom castle, we go for the odd weekend.  Site is in the grounds of a castle, on the river Annan, wooded walks, pub/restaurant/takeaway on site - but not to touristy, just like a local pub, small shop, 9 hole golf, its highly reccommended if you are in our area.

Good luck Shirley

I can second Hoddom Castle.

It's about an hour from us (just off J38) so less than half an hour more if you are in Kendal.

Much nicer than Carlisle
