Hi just wondered if anyone know of good site in york?mum in law seems to think there is one near the river were you can walk to city of york we cant find it though thanks

sounds like rowntree its really difficult to get on its a really busy site

I can recommend this site which is just off the Ring road and easy to find with good access.

It is a fairly new site, very friendly, helpful owners. We stayed here for 2 weeks last year. There is a bus stop outside the site entrance with 30 minute service to/from York. Bus pass friendly. Asda and huge shopping centre 1 mile away.

Have just stayed for 3 nights at rowntree park last weekend - its brilliant.

There is a caravan club site next to the river near the castle museum , I would love to stay there but they don't except tents

Rowntree park does have a tent field, at least according to the site details.
