Further to my post below about IDEAS on the mainland, I was wondering if there were any basic budget sites in the IOW which would take the edge off the total amount if we were to pay the ferry prices.
Basic site. Clean. Don't necessarily need a play area but near to one (or a beach) would be good. Don't want to be paying £25+++ a night for the 4 of us - more like £18 maximum if possible.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
If you want to do IOW on a budget check out the package deals on Red Funnel's website. We are doing a five night package for £139 in September, that is the ferry and the site included. They do a choice of sites, and various times of the year, although not during the main summer holiday.

The c&cc usually have temporary holiday sites on the isle of wight and they are very reasonable, you have to be a member.
Aahh.. that's an idea! I'd forgotten about those. You mean the certificated sites? We are members - might have a look at those. Thanks!!
