Trying to plan first holiday in tent and i'm stuck. My sons (aged 14 & 9) want to be on a site with space and a good adventure playground at the very least, but the more play options the better. My OH wants to be very close to the beach, and as for me - don't like to pay over the odds, commercial sites ie haven, etc or pebble beachs.
We want to be in Cornwall, Devon or Pembrokeshire.
I am drawn to Carlyon Bay in St Austell but i'm concerned about the redevelopment work going on down there.
Would really appreciate your ideas
Many thanks

How about lovely Bude? (OK so I know I am biased!).
Take a look at Wooda Farm Park - I think it'll have all you need?

HI purpletam,
Was in Carlyon Bay two years ago. The redevelopment certainly spoils the look of the beach but you can still use it.
We thought that the campsite at Carlyon Bay was one of the best we had ever been on. The pool has been made bigger, which really helps. The site had a really nice atmosphere.
We would have no hesitation going back there.
stowford farm meadows is a lovely site, its a big site with plenty to do on there but stll has a nice atmosphere and doesnt feel commmercialized, theres a pool, a barn full of animals inc rabbits kittens tortoises etc club house but then theres a pub part if you dont like the clubhouse seen, theres a caravan shop selling everything you could need, a small playground, shop, you can even go horse riding on site, welove it there!
