Hi all,

I'm looking to get away for a couple of nights with the kids. We're not brave enough to camp in our tent this time of year, sorry. I've tried booking cattages or farms but they either want crazy money or don't do Friday & Saturday nights only.

i found some stuff on these camping pods which look good. Any idea's what sites they're on in the lakes or any in the yorkshire dales?

or any other idea's for a cheap(ish) couple of nights away

thanks for any help

They had these at Barnsoul Farm when we went last year, they look great fun and are well set out at this site.

Barnsoul Farm is near Dumfries, so a bit far for a weekend, but worth a look if you fancy going for longer. On their website they call them `bothies` and are part of a network that has these across various parts of the U.K, (seen them in Northumberland as well, part of the same arrangement), so if you do a search for bothies you may find what you are looking for.

I think Castlerigg Hall in Keswick have some of these pods, you could check on their website or give them a ring. The site is one of the best in the Lakes.

Good luck

Fell End caravan park have them on their website.  We've stayed at this park a couple of times and enjoyed it (although the pods weren't there then so can't comment on what they are like).

Hi, there are some at The Quiet Site, near Ulswater, have not stayed here but visited it last year and plan to camp there in the summer - absolutely gorgeous and nice and quiet for kids! Check out their website - looks like there is a lovely wee bar too! Always a bonus. We have stayed at the Barnsoul Farm wigwams (pods) and they were great too!

Hi

thanks all for the advice, i've been in touch with Great Langdale site. Also later this year they are supposed to be getting a bigger "family" pod.
