Does anyone know of a good campsite where I could you as a base and then go cycling with my sons for a few days/week?

I have a feeling that not many campsites will allow you to go off and leave a tent unattended for several days. Yes I know it's a TT but they are more vunerable to storm damage than a caravan awning and what then? The site owner would have to move in and take it down for you, presumably. Best to check before you go that the warden is okay with you doing this. .
