Hi annajl
In our experience most 'bucket & spade' sites are busy (and noisy) in August.
Last year we opted for a nice quiet weekend in August - inland - on Dartmoor!
OK the weather wasn't fab (so maybe that's why it was so quiet ) so it maybe different this year (fingers crossed!).
We stayed at Langstone Manor. It's a lovely little site. Great facilities, doggie friendly and it even has it's own bar/restaurant on site (not too close to some of the camping areas and certainly not noisy!).
Hope it's not too far from Coventry for you. Check it out anyway.
Good luck.
