Can anybody give their opinion on the best caravan sites they have visited that would best suit young kids (5 and 4yr olds) including the surrounding area?
Your input would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks for the reply, I have not tried the advance search yet but I will now!!! We have no particular region in mind and we are based in North Yorkshire. I think I was just asking similar families for their favourites, as this is only our second year touring I wanted to make the most of this year and get about!! I will certainly look at your listings and thanks again for reply. Have a good year!
It really depends what you want for your little ones. We have 3 children ranging in ages from 4-15 and we all loathe Haven-style sites which are all singing, all dancing. We do however like sites which have the option of perhaps a bar, restaurant, indoor pool etc.
Unfortunately, we have found such sites to be lacking in the UK, though there are some. Have a look at Whitemead Forest Park - a more upmarket site with plenty for the kids.
Our personal favorite is Dolbryn in Carmarthenshire (Wales) which is a fair drive for you! It's a small, family run site and the family who own it are lovely. THey have farm outbuildings which have been converted into lovely rustic little shower/toilet blocks and the tiny original farmhouse has been turned into a little bar with wood burning fire and kiddies corner with books/games etc. There is a pond with ducks, a couple of goats, chickens and a play area with ample for youngsters. The coast is a 20 min drive.
We also love Kingsbury Water Park in the West Midlands. Plenty of walks in the vast forestry surrounding the lake. Not far from Tamworth where we take the kids skiing/sledging and just 15 mins from Drayton Manor Park. A perfect 'all-weather' site.
The rest of our favorites are all in France!

We loved Kelling Heath Norfolk, whilst a large site it was not over crowded , and had an indoor pool ( extra cost but at least you are not paying for what you dont use) outdoor pool, restaurant/ bar and pizza place.
Down side there wasn't that much in area for rainy days and it rained 10 out of 14 nights when we were there!

We are a fan of Bashley Park in the New Forest. Its tourers only(apart from the statics) and is clean, tidy, and flat!Theres a pool-indoor and out-bowling,park,golf,small indoor play area, games room etc but its not commercialised too much. There is evening entertainment which my kids love and as theres plenty to do on site you dont need to go out every day to find something to do.The surrounding area has tesco in new milton-just down the road- and Bournemouth and poole about half hour away.
