Don't know if its the same one but I've been to Great British Holiday Parks Camber Sands Park although I stayed in a static not a tent and this was a couple of years ago. I'm sorry to say it as I don't want to rain on your parade or anything like that but this park was really scummy and horrible. It had one of those bars where if you leant on it it took about 3 hours to prise your elbow away from the sticky grime!!
Our staic was disgusting, used cotton buds under the beds, dirty ashtrays.I would definitely not return based on my experience.
hi i organized a pub holiday easter 2003 126 adults 49 children camber sands .well all i can say is barge pole & dont go anywhere near the place.2002 ,196 adults 86 kids went to bogner no problem.2004,245 adults 176 kids went to haven in yarmouth again no problem so it isnt us +they tried to stop us raising money between ourselfs for charity,ie 2003 786pound 2002 1867pound 2004 1thousand,ninehundred +89pound to the local riding school for the disabled so are we that bad? dont go there
Tony, I would'nt! Not been there myself because when I phoned to see whether they had anything available last May for Whitsun weekend they told me the only take tents 5 ft x 5ft! Think the girl may have got it wrong and should've said metres, which would still have been too small for us anyhow. Not heard great things about the place either. Personally I'd recommend Shear Barn in Hastings as we ended up going there instead last May and loved it so much we returned in August and will definitely be going back this year. Even better now is its just had a complete refurb so its got a new entertainment complex including a swimming pool , which it didn't have last year.
how can i put this camber its self nice good beach and nice people lol yes i live in camber the caravan park always looks busy with caravan's and tents
Booked a static for 4 nights. Left after 3. Worst place I've ever been. Caravan was disgustingly filthy and smelly.
I have to echo what Beth1 said above. This place is SCUMMY - it's the only suitable word. If it really has improved since Beth1 was there last, then the thought of how it must have been before just makes my skin crawl!
There were plenty of tents in the touring field (although the campsite info now shows no tents). Tents were virtually on top of each other. Field just a mud bath. Facilities dire.
Heard a lady complaining about finding a poo in the swimming pool somewhere (didn't see it myself, thank goodness, and we were already out). The response of the staff was something like "oh well, the chlorine should kill any germs"(!). (Pool itself was way too overcrowded anyway, so we were in and out very quickly). Changing area for pool only communal with just 1 cubicle with a door.
I could go on and on, but to save time, I'll just say this whole site AWFUL. Avoid it like the plague.
I was going to write a review, but funnily enough, it won't let me....
We spent a weekend there earlier this year, great site, loads for the kids, good bar, good entertainment, good swimming pools, great facilities, camber beach is excellant.
The touring area is awful, washing-up and toilets/showers where filthy, pitches very dirty and crowded, mud and rubbish everywhere. Two fights occured on the touring pitch between noisy scummy campers and the police arrived. Rumours of knives being involved.
Got the impresion they couldn't care less about tents and caravans, only interested in the money from statics.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
...And they do charge an extortionate amount to hire a static!!
Not sure they cared much about those in the statics either....
The mattresses in the carvan were stained with I-dread-to-think-what (including what looked like blood). The linen they provided was also stained. (linen included in the price, but they only initially provided enough for one single bed - had to go and ask for the rest). The sink leaked into the cutlery drawer underneath (so we didn't use anything in it!). The windows had splatters, sticky marks and fingerprints all over them. The walls also had splat marks all over them. Used tissues, cotton buds hiding under the sofas and stuck in the steps up to the static. Dirty socks underneath the caravan.
Personally I didn't think much of the entertainment. Very tacky - eg getting the kids to dance and sing a song called "Titty-bum-bum". Club room very crowded and very smokey. Perhaps they should make it no smoking till at least after the kids shows had finished?
Lots of kids/young teenagers hanging around in small groups (no parents to be seen) - shouting out the filthiest language, sitting on the slot machines, pushing and shoving in the playground etc. Lots of very loud shouting and screaming going on till past 1 at night.
The inflatable bouncy castle thing /trampolines/roundabout etc weren't properly supervised - only 1 attendant for the 3. Saw several young kids come out crying because the bigger, rougher kids had bashed into them, knocked them over etc
Sorry to hear you didn't have a good time turquoise, must admit these type of sites are not to everyones taste, very tacky places. But the kids love em and there is loads to do and Camber in particular has a great beach. We where absolutely appauled at the state of the touring area, disgusting is the only word for it. And we had torrential rain and wind trying to pack-up our fc to go home on the bank holiday monday, mud everywhere, bl***y typical innit.
Yes, I saw the touring field and was so glad we hadn't taken the tent! It looked awful! I felt so sorry for those who had. Not the place to be in wet weather! Oh well, we live and learn....!
