Can anyone recommend a site in the Oswestry area? As it's for a motorhome, ideally with public transport close to the site.

I stayed on the C&CC site which is between Oswestry and Shrewsbury. It's a nice little site and there's a bus stop a few yards from the gate.

I'm afraid we're a bit lacking in sites close to town. As Nora said, the C & C C site is close to the Oswestry - Shrewsbury bus route, but quite a way from Oswestry itself (not really sure why they called it Oswestry). It is a lovely site, though, and up to usual C & C C standards.

The others that come up on the search in Jusy's post are miles from town out in the sticks and buses aren't frequent at all.

Apart from that there are the following which I've never used so can't say how good they are:

There's an adult only site called The Newnes near Ellesmere which is on the Oswestry - Ellesmere bus route, but it's only been open ujust over a year and I'm not sure if the facilities blocks are finished yet..

The Penrhos Arms in Whittington has a little site behind it. Never camped there but it's not a bad little pub.

There's a Caravan Club CL about 2 miles out on the Gobowen road which is a bus route, but I don't know what the site is called.

Not much help really, am I? Sorry. Maybe I should open a site here.

We went to the Newnes last year it is a lovely site but the pitches are very close to each other. It was a shame because it was a large field but all the hook ups were all in the same area, and the rest of the field was empty. There are no toilet or shower facilities either.
