Hiya, and welcome !
If you want a real fire check out the campsites with fires section. Remember, you may want to stay away from midgie areas in the summer. The beach sites on Kintyre are lovely and no midgies because of the wind! We're just back from a nice wee site at Benderloch. (I've yet to put up a review, though.)

Hey thanks for the reply, Kintyre sounds gorgeous I will look it up on the map and see how far from here it is, is that one of your favourite places?  I'm excited camping season is just about here !!

Try Comrie Croft near Crieff they have a small field forlarger tents but a huge area at the back for wild camping if you have a smaller 3 man or so tent. Attached to a youth hostel and not far from comrie village. Good walks and mountain bike hire too
