Well, back from our first night camping of the year (bug's bitten hard this time and can't wait to go camping again) BUT we do not enjoy other people's music/tv noise. can stay at home for that!
site rules said "no disturbing music" yet obviously taken with a pinch of salt by all...
soooo if you're looking for a quiet time away (and we really don't mind kids being noisy despite not having kids) where do you go? how do you know which sites take their own rules seriously?
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Oooh yes please! Just came back from a noisy site...would love to stay at a site that actually follows its own no noise rule! I don't mind a radio/tv on thats at a *personal* level, fair enough, but having it blasted with heavy bass is NOT fun, specially at night when your trying to settle your kids in bed.
We just came back from Saxdale House farm nr Hunmanby (Filey ).
Lovely little quiet site that doesn't break the bank either - £12 per night for our tent with ehu family of 4. Talking to the owner he said he charges £1000 to site your van for the season.
S&S and Celeste, I should send a letter or an email to the campsite you just stayed at, telling them how disappointed you were that they did not enforce their own peace and quiet rules. If more of us do this, owners might start to realise they can't get away with presenting themselves as one thing and then not bothering to uphold it.

I wouldn't wait until you get home to complain to the campsite that you have been disturbed by noise. Go as soon as you can to see them, it is the only way that they can then deal effectively with the noise. If they fail to then, when you have spoken to them, mention it on your review. That way everyone can see that they failed in their obligation.

I 've just come back from a campsite in Derbyshire and had a family playing music all day and late into the night from there car radio, (not quiet either) The wardens were lovely and she met me coming out of the toilets and ask if there was any problem where we were camping,I did say the music from a tent near us was really anoying us .She said a few people had complained but there was nothing they can do till after ten,as that was there site rules.(silence after ten.) It did stop after a few times of the warden going up, but it did spoil our weekend a little. I think these people are really selfish and only think of themselfs, they camp next to a family with a young baby, you just don't do that .My be they don't realise how the sound travels, i don't know. I go camping for some piece away from the television/radio.It does not have to be really quiet, i in fact i really like to her people talking ,children laughing and playing and having a good time, Its just that dam music.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
