Hi,

   My name is Rajat. I am new to this forum and new to North East as well. I recently moved from Portsmouth to Manchester and was planning to go for camping in Yorkshire for May bank holiday.

Would anyone be able to advise me as to where the good campsites are in Yorkshire (i.e. close to manchester). I like nature so somewhere close to mountain and lakes.

I have doing it earlier, I typed in Yorkshire with option County. It comes with an error saying too many sites.

Hence I put the post asking for any sites closer to Manchester.

Not so may Lakes in yorkshire...maybe you'd be better trying the Lakes which may not be much farther from manchester. Also how about the Peak district....only an hour or so from manchester and plenty of hills! 

If you like you're beer how about the campsite in Rosedale Abbey in North Yorks, a few miles outside Pickering. Nice little village with a couple of good pubs and a small brewery a couple of miles walk in Cropton ( get the bus back!)

Hi Rajat

If you want to stay near Manchester you need to be searching Lancashire not Yorkshre. Manchester is in Lancashire.
