Left it late to book for May bank holiday (25th May) cant get on any of the sites we like in Lakes.  Ones we are looking at now are the National trust sites which you can't book in advance.  Only problem being that hubby is a fireman and his shift doesnt finish til the sat morning so we wouldnt be able to get anywhere til the sat afternoon.

What do you think the chances are of us getting a pseck on a National Trust site would be then or does anyone know of a nice site that may not be booked up yet. We are after sat 23rd may til tues 26th.  2 adults/2 kids.  Lakes or north/mid wales.

Thanks Helen x

I wouldn't like to leave it to chance on the Sat pm. I guess it depends on the weather. If it's a glorious weekend then I would think it would be full by Friday evening. If it's wet and windy you will probably be ok.

Can't help you with an alternative site I'm afraid. But if you leave it until a couple of days before you will probably get a cancellation somewhere. Maybe on one of your favourite sites. It might be worth ringing and asking if you can go on a waiting list for cancellations? We've done that in the past.

Good luck!
