Hey, this will be my first time goin away on my own with the kid who is 8.  I'm just looking for an easy accesible site with a play park, nothing fancy.  As i'm very nervous about the thought of getting there and getting the van into the pitch as usually my folks tag along in their own van and usually help with this stuff.  Somewhere round berwickshire would be nice, there's just so many parks to go through and read reviews, just looking for any recomendations and advise lol about going it alone.

thanks!!

There are a lot of us on here who go solo with their kids - for a variety of reasons.    I know I do, but will use a tent, as my car will not pull our camper.
If you do a search, a good section to look in is Camping under Canvas.
There are also Single Parent Meets.

I am sure that if you phoned a site, they would be able to tell you if there was somebody available if you needed help in getting you van onto a pitch.

Look for sites with a playarea, as this is usually a good indication that there will be other kids on site, and usually means that the site is family orientated.
