Hi everyone

Well, we've bought out tent and are raring to go thanks to our 5 year old son - he's itching for us to take him camping!!!!  This website is brilliant.  We'd like to take advantage of the lovely weekend weather and take our first steps into camping world, but we notice that quite a few campsites have a minimum stay requirement of 2 nights (which is fair enough).  Unfortunately for us, hubby is working on Saturday, so will only be able to go away for one night.

Therefore, any suggestions are welcome around North Yorkshire, County Durham, Northumberland etc etc for the one night, preferably somewhere that's pretty good for kids and can take dogs.

Thanks everyone

Sarah

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

east ord nr Berwick is great, but not sure about minimum stay, very easy to get to and good park, dog walk & pub/soft play area.

There are loads to choose from in these areas and I think most will be okay with 1 night stays unless it is a bank holiday. One of my favourites is Cote Gyll near Osmotherly.
