Hello to everyone.

Me and the wife are absolute novices to camping, so we were wondering which are the best campsites to visit in the Lincoln area. This is basically so we can have a small taste of  what camping is about before we go a bit further afield. We have a 4 year old and a dog also. Are there any good recommendations?

I am also wondering where I can get new (and full) Camping Gaz 904/7 cylinders from in the Lincoln area? Any advice is most welcome!

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Hi - been to two in your wider area - Smeaton Lakes near Newark - we stayed there to get to Lincoln and was a twenty minute drive away. It was rather bare and had fishing lakes which meant little shelter and quite open to elements. We were put quite away from the toilet block and I wouldn't want to take a little one there. But, further afield, Sherwood forest holiday park was lovely - had warm, clean toilet block, much friendflier atmosphere and I would recommend this one for beginners as the on site shop had everything you'd possibly need when camping. Lovely walks for dogs. Good luck in your search.

It us a truth universally acknowledged that camping is fun.
