Have never been here before. Have read the reviews on this site and know not to pitch near the road, any other tips? As it is in amongst the trees is the ground quite stony? Will I be ok with normal pegs?

It is our first camping trip of the year and am worried about forgetting something or not having the right equipment for the site, if that makes sense. I should probably just chill and go with the flow but am a born worrier...

Don't panic Mrs Mannering!!!

Just go and chill !!! Ok a stone or two won't harm and if the pitch is near the road ask for another!!

Keep your food away from the donkeys!!!!!!!17

We had ALL our food stolen from inside the tent by two thieving donkeys, when we were at the showers. They just unzipped the tent, and ate everything and I mean EVERYTHING, and most of the packaging as well. In fact the only thing they left untouched was a bag of apples! To top it all, they broke back into the tent in the middle of the night, looking for more.17

Keep what you can, shut in the car.

Other than that, have a super time, the ponies all have foals at the moment and are soooo cute17

We were there a year ago. We pitched near the back by the forest.

The road noise isn't too bad but avoid it if you can.

The floor covering is fine with normal pegs.

I would however move all food and drink inside or in your car overnight. We didn't have any probs with animals inside the tent but a horse did try and drink our beer during the night!

The animals wander amongst the tent at nightime.
It's very lovely but we woke upto a horse neighing right next to our tent at full pelt! It was quite alarming at the time!
