I was wondering if anyone could recommend a campsite in Norfolk or Suffork. We have a large tent,So we would be looking for a site very basic just to use as a base,It will be August during the school holidays,so even a quiet field would be enough.Iwould really appreciate it if anyone knew of such a site.

Whitwell Hall near Reepham might suit you- Have not actually camped there but OH's relatives live very near there and it is a lovely rural site.  Worth a look? Sarah

Sorry.. just edited to say that I think they only take bookings for groups- is three tent minimum according to website. Apologies. Sarah x

Try High Sand Creek Campsite, Stiffkey - I last stayed there a few years ago, but it is a field right against the salt marshes, with a shower block & not much else. From the reviews listed it seems to be pretty much the same still.

Yup was goign to recommend High Sands Creek as a possiblity.

Also Manor Farm near Cromer, not 'basic' as such, but not fancy either nice open site up on the hill.

I'd not recommend Deepdale though. The site is nice, but we thought the piches were on the small side and a bit shoe horned in. in places. and they do say on their site that the max tens size is 6-7m.

Though you can book a double pitch, but it's not that cheap.

Drewery Camping & Caravan Park at California, 6 miles North of Great Yarmouth. The camping field is on a cliff top with direct access to heathland and a brilliant beach so if you have kids or dogs it's great. There's an on-site shop, small club, and a pub and a cafe/take-away across the lane, also a small amusement arcade. Unless you want ehu you can more or less pitch anywhere, so a large tent shouldn't be a problem. They don't have a website but the phone number is 01493 730845 if you want to make any enquiries.
