Hi

We have stayed at Limefitt which is just outside of  Windermere.  Its a nice site but you are quite reliant on your own transport as bus service seemed a bit irregular. They do seasonal pitches and it has a lovely pub a converted barn. Fishing is also available I think on the river that runs near the site,

Enjoy wherever you choose.

What sort of info on Park Cliffe??

Wardens are brilliant. Club house with bar and food and TV - not huge. They do things like quizzes at weekends as there are chalets and statics just down the road on another bit of the site.

Great facilities - including private bathrooms.

Small shop selling lots of basics.
Stream runs through site
Children play area - nice size and away from most of the campsite.
Good wash up areas - under cover (overhead). Good laundry facilities
Inside childrens play room (older children)

Great walks around and about, great views form the top of the hill behind the site (name escapes me at he mo)

Walk to the bottom of the road ad there is a good bus service back and forth to Windermere and Barrow.

Walk up the road and you're in Winster at The Brown Horse.

Biggest camping field is on a slope - van area is very level and well set out.

Access to the site - if with a van the only way is the Newby Bridge way and I would recommend this way even if not towing. Steep winding road up to site entrance.

Ashes Lane Caravan Park between Kendal and Windermere

Camping and Caravanning Club.

Great Showers and Toilet facilities but its not cheap for a full seasonal pitch. They have a bar on site and its near to a lake which you can fish from, approx 15 mins walk from the site.

Its a 20 minute walk across fields to Stavely which even has its own brewery.

I really enjoyed our time there on an Autumnal pitch and would highly recommend to anyone else.
