does anybody know of campsites in england with either kennels on site or close by. so that when we are camping and the kids want to go somewhere for a day we can leave the dog somewhere safe. we are wanting to go to flamingo land to start with but will be wanting to travel to other places later. thanks in advance for any help.

Woodlands Theme Park in Devon has on-site kennels. We didn't use them but principally they are for if you want to go into the theme park so you can leave your dog there (rather than in van/tent). Might be worth giving them a call to see if they can be used for when you go offsite.
Sorry can't help with somewhere near Flamingo land

I have a dog, have personally never put them in kennels, but I do understand that with having 3 children, they may occasionally need a day out too! So people shouldn't be made to feel bad. Everyone's situation is different I think and we shouldn't judge without knowing someone.
I would rather leave my dogs in kennels than in the back of the car for a few hours - especially if its a hot day
If you really do have to leave your dog then this kennels is about 10 miles away from Flamingo Land (don't know where you are camping so have done search based on that).
I would recommend you doing some online research on any kennel you choose to use, I know its only a couple of hours but nevertheless it best to be happy that your dog will be happy left there:

To find kennels near a campsite you like the look of, use Google maps and just put in 'kennels' and name of a village/town - it will bring up a list and show them on the map

Does anyone know of day kennels in the vicinity of Camborne, Cornwall? Staying at the Lavender Fields touring site for 8 days and may need a day out without my beloved chap (mean - I know).
If campsites could advertise this facility, it would be a big boon for biz. Many owners like us wouldn't dream of leaving our dog in a car or (just as bad) alone for a couple of hours, but more and more places are becoming dog unfriendly. It is getting harder and harder being a responsible dog owner and being responsible to the needs of your family at the same time.

I have absolutely no problem with leaving my dogs in the car (unless it's too hot, obviously). They just curl up and snooze quite happily, we have to wake them up when we get back.

I plan my outings on the basis that they must be dog-friendly, and would only leave him in the car for a short period of time, like visiting a supermarket for provisions etc...
I appreciate that it is not always possible for a dog to go everywhere, therefore, knowing a local kennel near a campsite will be very useful.
