Hi Cheshire Craig

We stayed at Wooda Farm Park last month and it was a lovely site. Only downside it is a little way out of Bude and no footpath for much of the time. But very clean and tidy.

Enjoy

wooda is very clean and well maintained, about a mile from centre of bude

widemouth is more commercial, but you can walk to widemouth bay from there.  However centre of bude is still a couple of miles away

I much prefer wooda

Opps just read it again, it's widemouth bay i was referring to not fields!

Wooda is lovely anyway!

Spoke to someone today at a football tournament who is just back from Widemouth Bay campsite and they couldn't sing its praises highly enough.  Not sure its for us though as the tent pitches appear to be sloping.

Hiya Craig

Wooda is a beautiful campsite and I would highly recommend it - although we haven't actually pitched up there of course.17  You would have to drive into Bude (5 mins) though with all your beach kit!!!

Widemouth Fields is a relatively new campsite (opened 2008), just outside Bude but near to Widemouth Bay - again you'd have to drive to the beach.  We had friends staying there last year and visited them quite a lot.  It's pretty flat and characterless at the moment but once things grow, etc., I think it'll be a fab site.  All facilities are of course brand new.  Our friends were particularly impressed with the litte cafe on site and the cooked breakfasts! 17 I have to point out that they had the worst 2 weeks in August 2008 and the wind howled, and it lashed with rain, for 2 weeks constantly.  We had to go and rescue them one day and their brand new awning was ruined!  As you can tell it's pretty exposed up there!17

At this point Craig I think you'll be very lucky to get in either.  I wouldn't be surprised if they are fully booked by now.17

Keep me posted and if you get in I'll give you some tips of where to visit and eat!!17

I would choose Wooda over widemouth fields, the walk from widemouth field to the beach has no footpath and quite busy. When we went last year the beach at widemouth had lost a lot of sand and was very rocky not good for bodyboarding or surfing. I may have come back now though?

Hi Craig

Not surprised that Wooda was full!17

The weather had better last until then (and a long time after!) otherwise I'll blame you!17

We are away that weekend (Exmoor) so bound to be great!!!17

We have just got back from a week at Widemouth Fields. There was my wife and I and also our friends and their little lad who is 3 years old.

The site was absolutely perfect with all the facilitys being brand new and the pitches extremely large. Some of the site was open as has been previously mentioned but if you choose your pitch there are some more protected areas.

The service was second to none and there just wasnt anything Jerry wouldnt try and do for you. It is a walk to the beach but as there is a shuttle bus service put on by the site for a small fee it didnt matter - infact it saved us driving which ment we could have a few glasses of wine at the pub which over looks the beach !

Hey beatfreakz

The pub must've been the Bay View Inn at Widemouth Bay then?  A lovely place to eat - great food, great cider and fab views!  I'd highly recommend it to Craig!17
