I've not posted here before, please be kind.
I want to take my 7 year old daughter camping in the summer holidays. I've only taken her camping once before, most of my camping experiences tend to be back packing ones, where family friendly camping has not been a priority as there have been no children present, or where someone has a car .
I've been looking through the campsite reviews but my head is starting to ache, I was wondering if anyone could give me recommendations?
We will be getting a train from Manchester (Yes with all camping equipment, it's a two man tent, we'll attempt to travel as light as possible). Ideally I would like to avoid too much time on the train or too many changes. I don't mind getting a taxi for a while at the end to get to the campsite.
As we are not driving things have got to be in walking distance. We are happy to wander round the countryside/ coast but a shop/ village nearby would be very helpful. Ideally I want to get there, pitch up, and not have to use transport again till we leave.
My daughter is keen on a playground but if there are things for children nearby then that would be fine.
Any help would be appreciated. Most reviews seem to be written with the driver in mind so getting a good idea of what it will be like without a car is difficult.
Thank you in advance,
Jeni

Hi. what about Hendra Mynach site Barmouth in wales, you can get the train from Manchester to shrewsbery and then to barmouth, the site is about 15 mins walk along the promanade and then just over the railway, it has play area and cafe and shop, there is alovely beach and there is plenty of things to do in the town.
Give them a call as you could arrange to be collected from the station,
