Hi,

Bit of a newbie. Could anyone recommend a great family campsite in Dorset, please? Apart from good value, would like showers and kids play area ( suitable for 4yr olds)  preferably and quite user friendly as small baby on board on first camping trip.

Thanks

We love Wareham Forest Touring Park.

Its a big park right next to Wareham forest, plenty of open space, walks into the forest direct from your pitch.  Outdoor pool, small shop and close to Wareham for shopping and the coast also.  It is a quiet site (not sure if you want this), maybe take a look at their reviews on here.

Wood Farm at Charmouth. Nice indoor pool, small indoor soft play place (suitable for under 5's) and good play park.  Handy for lovely beach at Charmouth.

I can recommend East Fleet Weymouth http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=East+Fleet&by=sitename

This one West Fleet, Weymouth  is tents only  http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=West+Fleet&by=sitename  (your profile does not say whether you are a tenter or not) They have brand spanking new shower blocks with family bathrooms too.

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=Pear+Tree&by=sitename This one is near Poole. I have not been for a few years but my girls were small when we were last there and they had spotless toilets and a fab play area with Little Tykes etc.

I also really like this one nearish to Swanage http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=Wareham+Forest&by=sitename  again we have not been for a few years. I remember my youngest finding the play area a bit challenging at age 3 here though.  It may have been changed or added to. Nice site.

I'm with the others in recommending East Fleet - a fantastic site.  In fact we liked it so much we're going back again this year!

Happy camping
